Born: Mar 21, 1980
Date of Passing: Apr 03, 2005
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySCOTT MICHAEL ALBERT BARR Scott was born Friday, March 21, 1980 at The Pas, MB. He was raised here and had many friends, family and people who loved him in the community. He was very involved with the Air Cadets growing up and made a lot of close friends. Scott moved to Gretna, MB to complete his education. This move and the friends he made while attending the Mennonite Collegiate Institute made a lifelong impression on Scott. He remained very close to many of his friends even after moving away. Scott lived a very gratifying life, as he was able to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a pilot. He had three years of flying under his belt and loved every minute of it. In Canada he flew in British Columbia, Ontario and Nunavut, and he had the unbelievable opportunity to fly at the other end of this earth, in the Maldives and also in Greenland. He is now flying in Heaven above. Scott was a good kid, who had gown into a mature, strong and talented young man. He loved spending time with family and friends, and was always off doing something with someone. Scott has touched all of our hearts in so many ways, and we are truly blessed to have had him in our lives. Scott passed away suddenly, Sunday, April 3, 2005, at his residence in Calgary, AB. Scott is survived by his mom and dad, Keith and Sandra Barr; his brother and sister-in-law, Brad and Kelly Barr; his Grandma Barr; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends. He was predeceased by his Grandma and Grandpa Gallagher; his Grandpa Barr; and his uncle, Doug Gallagher. Prayers and visitation were held Friday, April 8, 7:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas. The funeral service was held Saturday, April 9, 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral, The Pas, with Father Paul Bringleson presiding. Memories from the Heart were given by Barry Kreller. Scripture Reading, Alberta Hemauer. Pallbearers were Toby Wiens, Glenlea; Danny Hildebrand, Crystal City; Todd Robinson, Brandon; Colin Smith, Winnipeg; Tim Bergen, Sanford; Phillip Elias, Mordan. Honorary Pallbearers were Scott's two extended families the Krellers and the Wiens; and all the many people who have been touched by having Scott in their life. If friends so desire, donations to the Mennonite Collegiate Institute, Box 250, Gretna, MB, R0G 0V0, or to the Air Cadets Squadron 303, Box 4104, The Pas, MB, R9A 1S6, would be appreciated by Scott's family. Interment took place at Lakeside Cemetery beside Scott's Grandpa Gallagher. Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, in care of arrangements. We wish that we could have bottled your giggles when you were small and collected all of your handprints from each windowpane. If we could have done this, we would take them out gently whenever we need to, and spread them across everything. Then, we would find such joy in remembering. But we have no giggles or handprints to hold or to scatter, and remembering is somewhat bittersweet, for you are so far away from home . . . . . . and home will never be the same without the sound of your laughter and the gift of your presence spilling out from every room.
