KATHLEEN DRABIK (nee MERRICK) Kathleen passed away peacefully on Monday, April 11, 2005 at Fort Garry Care Centre at the age of 88. Kathleen G. Drabik was born February 26, 1917 in Nottingham, England to John Percival Merrick and Ada Stainton Merrick. Kathleen attended Issac Brock, General Wolfe and Daniel Mac schools. Kathleen later went on to work for Eaton's in the credit department until her marriage to Joseph on June 13, 1942. Kathleen is survived by her husband of almost 63 years, Joseph Drabik; daughter Barbara Dunn (Blake); granddaughters, Karen Bartlett (Raymond), Jacqueline Brisley (Ian) and her great-grandson Ryan James Bartlett. Kathleen was predeceased by her only sister Phoebe Mumma. The family expresses their pride in how Dad looked after Mom prior to going to the care centre and his special care. The family would like to thank the personal care home staff for their care and compassion, and special thanks to Kathleen's roommate Sylvia Gilroy for her friendship, care and concern. Graveside service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kathleen's memory may be made to The Winnipeg Humane Society.
