DORIS JOSEPHINE CHIMILAR (nee INMAN) November 5, 1926 - April 15, 2005 Peacefully on Friday, April 15, 2005 Doris passed away at the age of 78. Doris will be lovingly remembered by her children, Warren (Vivian), Murray (Linda Kisil), Larry (Lorene) and Brenda (Jim) Loewen; grandchildren, Kelly (Tannis), Kristi (Jason) Scott, Carrie (Rob) Quinto, Derek and Matthew; stepgrandchildren, Darryl, Sandra (Joel), Ryan, Ashley, Mathew, Carla and Adam (Angie); great-grandson Callin; and stepgreat-grandchildren, Noah, Dallis, Joshua and Lucas. Doris will also be missed by her longtime friends, Bill and Louise Red Dawyduk; as well as sisters, Helen Hanna and Phyllis Thirlwall. Doris was predeceased by her husband Wally in 2003; her parents, Katherine and Joseph Inman; sisters, Violet and Lorraine; brothers, Raymond and Glen; and daughter-in-law Donna. Doris was born November 5, 1926 in Winnipeg. After completing grade 8 she went to work at Eaton's in the tailor shop where she manufactured suits for the soldiers returning from the war. It was there that she met Louise, who would become her lifelong friend. Doris and Wally met in 1946, two weeks after originally meeting, Wally proposed and they were married May 8, 1948. Doris and Wally raised their children and spent 55 happy years together. Doris loved her family. She was always putting others before herself. Doris enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking for them and gardening. The dignity and respect afforded Mum and our family by everyone at Kildonan Personal Care Centre is truly appreciated. Words cannot express our thanks. In accordance with Doris's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family graveside service will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. All Mums/Nana's are special - None more special than ours.
