GARNIS G. BALL (nee TALBOT) It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of Garnis G. Ball, on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at the Seven Oaks General Hospital, at the age of 72 years. She is survived by her loving husband Douglas Ball, a resident of Winnipeg; son Raymond Ball (Debbie) of Powell River, BC; daughter Lori Sommerville (Craig) of Winnipeg; brother Dennis Talbot (Ella); sister Fern Taylor (Cliff); her grandchildren, Ryan, Stephannie and Alexi of Powell River, BC; and many nieces, nephews and relatives. Garnis was predeceased by her father and mother. Garnis was born in Carberry, MB. Upon moving to Winnipeg, she attended Chapman School and Daniel McIntyre Collegiate. She was employed by Schneiders Meat Packing Plant, Office Overload, Canada Packers and Keller Equipment, where she later retired from. Garnis was an avid reader. She loved to travel, spend time at the cottage and share a good joke. A private family funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's All Beliefs and Faiths Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave. at Sharp Boulevard. Garnis' family and friends are all invited to attend a reception at Silver Heights Restaurant, 2169 Portage Ave. on Monday, April 18 at 2:30 p.m. Special thanks to the City of Winnipeg Fire and Paramedics Service, the medical staff at the Grace and Seven Oaks General Hospitals and also to Dr. Oscar Domke for many years of care.
