Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryFREDERICK (FRED) STEINKE Fred Steinke, aged 83 years, of Beausejour, MB, dearly beloved husband of Dorothy passed away on April 16, 2005 at the Beausejour Health Centre. He is survived by wife Dorothy; children, Roydon (Liz), Leslie (Alice), Dianne (Steve) Smith, Harvey (Kim), Randy (Karen), James (Heidi) and Tommy (Tracy); grandchildren, Ted, David, Jennifer, Jason, Johann, Paul, Laura, Kate, Brenda, Kristen, Joshua, Mark, Carly, Hanna, Kendall, Reid and Aaron; and brother Rudy Steinke. He was predeceased by son Clifford, brothers, sisters and parents. Fred and Dorothy married on July 20, 1946. Fred served in the Canadian Military during the Second World War. On his return from active duty he purchased a farm at Golden Bay and began his dairy farm operation. Over the years he was active in school and church boards, agricultural society and the Canadian Legion in the Golden Bay and Beausejour areas. Fred was also employed as an operator at the water treatment plant at Muskwa, MB. During their marriage, Fred and Dorothy enjoyed travelling to the East and West coast, Europe and parts of the United States visiting friends and family. The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Zeiler, Dr. Campbell, Dr. Bernstein, nurses and careworkers. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 20 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Hugh Laidlaw officiating. Interment will follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Viewing will be held at Sobering Funeral Chapel from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19.
