RON ARNASON Peacefully, in his sleep, on Friday, April 15, 2005, Ron passed away at the age of 56 years. Ron is lovingly remembered by his wife Carol; children, Melody and Angela; grandsons, Nathan and RJ; mother Mary Arnason; sister Wendy and husband Bryan Furst; nieces, Christa, Tracy and Amanda; caring relatives and a multitude of friends. He was predeceased by his father Hjortur (Andy) and grandparents. In spite of battling on going health problems throughout most of his life, Ron tackled a variety of vocational pursuits. Undoubtedly, Ron's greatest joy in life was derived from his marriage to Carol. During his time among us, Ron's lifelong journey was epitomized by his quest for, and loyalty to, friends. His pens and pocket full of blank cards, used to create little nametags and caricatures adorned with flowers, teddy bears or other characters, became his Magic Stone , serving as a springboard to new friendships. He was especially proud of his ability to bring a smile to a child's face with one of these little ambassadors of friendship. Examples of these mementos can still be found in the Children's Hospital, restaurants and other places of business in Winnipeg and beyond, or tucked away in one's little personal treasure trove of keepsakes. Ron's loyalty to his friends and family was unsurpassed. Hardly would a day go by that Ron was not on his phone keeping in touch with the people who were important in his life. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. A special thanks to all the people whose time and efforts have served to enhance the quality of life that Ron and those close to him were able to enjoy. We are eternally grateful. On Thursday, April 21 at 2:00 p.m. Ron's funeral service will be held in The Bridge Church (formerly First Alliance Church), 620 Oxbow Bend Rd. (Portage Avenue West and the Perimeter). In lieu of flowers, the offering of a simple prayer or a donation to the charity of one's choice would be graciously accepted. The most precious time you'll ever spend Is the time you take to make a friend. WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665

I happened upon this in 2014. I didn't know Ron very well...was in a nightclub with friends one evening feeling a little low (not usual for me). I guess he could see that and struck up a conversation. He drew teddy bears, roses and hearts on cards for me and my name...that was the first and last time I ever met this man but his kindness and smile lifted me up, made me laugh and smile and I felt better. RIP Ron and thank you kind soul! - Posted by: Linda Broesy (Acquaintance) on: Oct 12, 2014

Well Big guy, you will certainly be missed. I'll never forget all of the GREAT times we had together. You will always have a special place in my heart, and our love will always be with you big brother. I would have really loved to have gotten a copy of all of your famous characters and have them posted up on my website when its finished. THE QUEST IS ON!! I will make it my goal to get as many as I can, so everyone in cyberspace can see all of the wonderful work you have done. - Posted by: Kevin Smith (Family) on: Apr 21, 2005
