GEORGE HODNETT It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather, George Hodnett at the age of 68, on April 16, 2005 at Deer Lodge Centre. He will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by his wife Pearl; daughter Kathleen; sons, Craig and Mark; and grandchildren, Natasha and Anastasia who never failed to bring a twinkle to his eyes and a smile to his face. George had the will and heart of a champion and proved it beyond any and all doubts. He leaves behind a legacy of strength and courage that will continue to inspire his family whom he loved. His happiest times were spent in the summer at the cottage in Big Whiteshell. Being outside was one of his favorite pastimes. He loved to canoe, fish and of course, taking all the kids for a swim in the water with the big red slide and pretending to be Jaws. Campfires for roasting weiners and marshmallows were always a must. Our family wishes to extend our deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Deer Lodge Centre and the many home care workers over the years, which allowed George to be at home with his family. A special thank you to Donald and Greg for the kindness and compassion you had shown. God saw you getting tired, in tears we saw you sinking. We watched you fade away. You suffered much in silence you fought so hard to stay. You faced your task with courage your spirit did not bend. But still you kept on fighting until the very end. God saw you getting tired so he put his arms around you and whispered Come with Me . So when we saw you sleeping, so peaceful, free from pain we could not wish you back to suffer again. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, as God calls us one by one, our chain will link again. Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held. Donations may be made to the Parkinson's Society of Manitoba, 302-171 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1M3 or Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3. You will be sadly missed and in our hearts forever. You are our hero! We love you. BARDAL FUNERAL HOME CREMATORIUM 843 Sherbrook Street, 774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca
