ERNA SEIER (nee BRAUN) Peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2005, Erna Seier passed away with her family at her side at the River East Personal Care Home. Erna will be sadly missed by her sons, Martin (Darlene), Gerwin (Carla), Gordon (Deborah), Reinie (Lin) and daughter Ilse Desautels (Maurice); 12 grandchildren, Richard, Michael, Keith, Brian, Ryan, Jerradt, Melissa, Taylor, Krista, Kirby, Tiffany and Elizabeth; six great-grandchildren, Lindsay, Alex, Brianne, Alexandra, Ethan and Owen. She will also be greatly missed by her sister Martha and brother Adolf (Lucy), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Reinhard; son Edmond; her parents, Wilhelm and Pauline Braun; her brothers, Edmond and Edward and her sister Lydia. Erna was born January 8, 1926 in Matschulkie, Poland. She worked with the Red Cross and on October 24, 1947 she married Reinhard. In 1955 the family moved to Canada and settled in Winnipeg. Mom loved her home where celebrations with family and friends created lasting memories for many. Wonderful meals and laughter were shared with numerous guests who visited and were treated to her generous hospitality. Erna's gardens created wonderful vegetables and flowers that were given freely to all that visited. She will be greatly missed. A celebration of Erna's life will be held, Friday, April 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. #1 E. at Navin Road. Interment will be held in Green Acres Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Erna's grandsons. The family would like to thank the staff at River East Personal Care for their care and compassion.
