She emigrated from England with her parents and family in June 1907, settling in Winnipeg where she received her education. She married Horace Aylwin in 1929, moving to Plumas in 1934. Returning to Winnipeg in 1953, she worked with the Fidelity Trust Company for 20 years until her retirement. She was a member of Norwood Rebekah Lodge #42, having joined the Order with Patriotic Rebekah Lodge #53 at Plumas in 1947, and had attained the rank of Past District Deputy President. Eileen was predeceased by her husband Horace in 1965, son Harry in 1984, grandson Dwight in 2001, brothers Charles in 1957, Noel in 1990, Reuben in 1998, and a sister Kathleen in infancy. Surviving are her sister Mary Hansen of Los Angeles, daughter Elizabeth and husband Arthur Kemp and their children, Kathleen and Brian, daughter-in-law Helen Aylwin and children, Sandra (David) Lussier, Laurie (Barry) Mackedenski, and Audrey (Kevin) Veitch, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
