THOMAS EDWARD ANDERSON January 21, 1929 - April 18, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and grandfather on April 18, 2005 at the age of 76 years. He went home to eternal rest. Left to cherish his memory is his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Mabel; sons, Charles, Brad (Donna), Thomas Bob (Tracy) and Brent (Deborah); daughters, Laura (Don), Rose (Hector), Mildred, Mabel, Monica (Pat) and Dawn (Brian); 38 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brothers, Walter, Wilfred (Yvonne), Hebron (Delma) and Ernest (Susan); sisters, Beatrice, Olive, Melva, Irene (Terry) and Muriel (Melvin); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Thomas was predeceased by his parents, Henry G. Anderson and Florence Anderson; sisters, Susan Sumner, Linda Anderson, Hazel Violet Anderson, Mary Ida Anderson and grandson Aaron Shorting (October 1977). Thomas (Bob Cook) lived his life to the fullest. The things he loved to do most were baseball, curling, hunting and camping. During the summer, baseball was his number one sport. Every weekend you would find him, and see him, coaching or playing baseball. In later years, he dreamed of having his own baseball team. This vision came to pass, when his children became old enough to play baseball. His dream team consisted of his sons and daughters that went on to win the slowpitch tournament at Oakbank. Family was the apple of his eye. Spending time with family was very valuable to him, and this was evident in the numerous events he shared with his family. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 21 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel in Gimli with Pastor Gerald Anderson officiating. Cremation to follow the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Gilbart Funeral Home, Gimli in care of arrangements.
