FRANK KOZERA It is with great sadness the family announces the sudden passing of Frank Stanley Kozera on Saturday, April 16, 2005 at home after a long and courageous struggle with Parkinson's Disease. He will be forever cherished by his wife Emily (Kowalik) of 54 years and lovingly remembered by their daughter Beverley (David) Kawchuk and grandchildren Kaley and Paul; son Eugene (Barbara) and grandchildren, Lisa (Tim) Ellis, Janice (Darcy) Horn, Catherine and Daniel; daughter Connie (Gilbert) Gilbertson and their great-grandchildren, Stefan, Nathan, Jeremy, Eric, Nicholas and Laura. He is survived by sister Jean Soluk, brother Peter and Aunt Pauline Cherkas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his father Michael (1985) and mother Ann (1972); brother-in-law Harry Soluk; sister-in-law Gertrude Kozera and Uncle Mike Cherkas. Frank was born January 9, 1926 in Greenwald, MB where he spent his early years. He served his country overseas with the RCAF from 1943 to 1945. He married the love of his life on November 4, 1950 and they were blessed with three children. Frank and Emily farmed from 1950 to 1987 in Greenwald, MB along the Brokenhead River. Due to Frank's illness they sold the farm and moved to Beausejour where they resided until his passing. Gigi was actively involved in all of his grandchildren's lives, encouraging them in their academic and recreational pursuits. His passion for knowledge and love of reading and his aptitude for cards remained with him till the end. Special thanks to the Beausejour Paramedics, the emergency staff at the Beausejour Hospital and Constable Telfer for their efforts and support during this difficult time. Prayers will be offered on Friday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 530 Atlantic Ave., Beausejour, MB. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on April 23 at 10:30 a.m. also at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Rob McDougall officiating. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Herbert Kozera, Darcy Horn, Timothy Ellis, Brian Hnatyshyn, Daniel Kozera and Paul Kawchuk. Honorary pallbearers will be Orest Hnatyshyn, Ronald Kowalik, John Sobetski, Adrian Kowalik, Donald Sobetski and Dieter Wernicke. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. He walked quietly thru life A kind and gentle man.
