OLGA JENKINS (nee DREWLO) Sadly, our family announces the passing of our beloved mother, Olga on Tuesday, April, 19, 2005 at the Luther Home, at the age of 96 years. Born June 24, 1908, in Beausejour, Mom was the oldest surviving member of the Drewlo family. Olga was a devoted mother to her three sons, Bill (Marilyn), Harold and Ted (Wendy); she cherished her three grandchildren, Cheryl Viel (Jack), Les Jenkins (Linda), and Teri Ingram (Rich); great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Sasha, Morgan, Nicole, and Courtney. Olga will also be missed by her sisters, Mae Danyluk (Orest) and Alma Bonner (Tony); brother Ham Drewlo (Doreen); sisters-in-law, Doris Drevlo and Tillie Drewlo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mom was predeceased by her dear husband, Fred; brothers, Bert and Len; and sister Margaret. Mom was the oldest daughter of Ernst and Augusta Drewlo. Olga, her brothers and sisters, had a special family bond through music, family celebrations and reunions, dating back to the early 1930's. This tradition has been passed on to their children. Even though loved ones had moved away, Olga stayed in touch with many of her friends from Seven Sisters Falls and St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Everyone knew they would be welcomed at the Jenkins' home in West Kildonan for a cup of coffee and lively conversation. For those who wish, public viewing will be held on Friday, April 22 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories in Wojcik's All Beliefs and Faiths Funeral Chapel, 2157 Portage Ave. at Sharp Boulevard, and prior to Olga's funeral service which will be held on Saturday, April 23 at 11:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, 403 1st Street N, Beausejour, MB. Interment will follow in the Beausejour Cemetery, Beausejour, MB. Pallbearers will be her grandson Les Jenkins, nephews, Garry Streich, Jim Streich, Herb Streich, Rick Sokol and Bob Drewlo. Special thanks to the staff at Luther Home for their compassionate care and respect for Mom during her last years. In lieu of flowers, donations in Olga's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2 or to a charity of one's choice.
