Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryF. E. BARBARA LINDSAY February 3, 1946 - April 19, 2005 Peacefully on April 19, 2005, after an eight-year battle with breast cancer, Barbara passed away at home with her family by her side. Barbara is survived by her son Colin (Nancy) Morris, daughter Lesley (David) Bell and the light of her life granddaughter Lindsay May Bell; also surviving is sister Margaret (Joe) Rodger; nieces, Jennifer and Joyce Alexander; nephews, David Alexander, Glen and Sean Rodger. She was predeceased by her sister Sheena Alexander in 2001. Barbara was born in St. Andrew's, Scotland and came to Winnipeg with Colin and Lesley in 1971. She was employed since 1972 at the University of Manitoba in Human Ecology, the School of Music, and the Department of Botany and for the last 13 years in the Department of Chemistry. She had a great love for the university and enjoyed her work tremendously especially the interaction with students. Barbara had many interests; her greatest joy was in her children and granddaughter in whom she considered herself blessed. Colin and Lesley especially wish to thank their aunt Maggie for her kindness, compassion, and support during the last month. The entire family also wishes to express deep gratitude to friends and colleagues for their support during this illness. Many thanks to Dr. Phyllis Bedder, Dr. Ian Maxwell and nurse Ann Anderson and the entire staff of the Victoria Hospital Oncology Department. Special thanks to Heather and Mary at the Palliative Care Unit at St. Boniface Hospital. At Barbara's request there will be no formal service and cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's memory to the University of Manitoba Department of Funding or to a charity of their choosing. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
