MARIE PETERS It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Marie Peters on Sunday, April 17, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre at the age of 79. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Gary (Maggie) and Greg (Andrea); grandchildren, Cory Kolt , Tammi Peters and Corey Peters; great-grandchildren, Keyshawn and Tayejah; sisters, Mona (Gordon) and Marion; niece Donna Hay; and special friend Cathy Coughlin. Mom was predeceased by her husband Jim in 2000; son Tim in 1971; sisters, Marge and Muriel and brother Douglas (Mack). Mom was born on August 1, 1925 in Brandon to Edith and Ernest Cove. She went to Daniel McIntyre High School and Success Business College and worked as a secretary for a few years at different companies and for David Orlikow but mainly as a housewife and loving mother. She was also an avid speed skater in her youth. She married Jim on August 12, 1944 and raised their three sons in Winnipeg and enjoyed many happy years at Grand Beach together. She was active at St. Barnabas Anglican Church where she sang in the choir. Her bright smile will be missed by all. The family would like to thank the staff at Poseidon Care Centre especially Elizabeth and the staff on the 4th floor for their loving care over the last five years; the staff at Health Sciences Centre Dialysis Unit and the Emergency Ward for their care and concern. We would like to extend a special thanks to Mom's Guardian Angel, Cathy, for all the time spent with Mom. It was much appreciated and you had a special place in her heart. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26 at Bardal Funeral Chapel, 843 Sherbrook St. If friends so desire a donation can be made in Marie's name to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Manitoba Branch, 730 Taylor Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3M 2K8.
