FUMIYO HOSAKI MUKAI It is with great Sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Fumi, at the Concordia Hospital on Thursday April 21, 2005. Fumi was born in Port Haney (Mapleridge), British Colombia, on January 6, 1924. Fumi was predeceased by her husband, Yasuo On November 19, 2003, as well as sister, Sue Ogino, brothers, Tak Hosaki and Shaz Hosaki. Left to mourn her passing are her children; Amy Mukai and Jim Breaukelman, Craig and Rosie Mukai, and Kerry Mukai; grandchildren; Cathy and Michael Mukai, Jeffrey Breaukelman; great grandchildren, Breanna Delacruz and Tamiya Khan; sisters, Misao Ikeda, Matts Okada and Mabel Tsuji, as well as brother, George Hosaki. Fumi grew up working on her parent's apple orchards and poultry farm in Port Haney. Later she went to work in a fish cannery. In the early 1940's she went to work in a sugar beet farm near Oakville, Manitoba. Fumi moved to Winnipeg in 1949 where she married Yasuo. She worked as a dress maker from home for twenty years while raising her children. In 1968 she gained employment with Sears as a seamstress, retiring in 1985. Viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, April 24 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Avenue, Aubrey Street entrance. Funeral service will be held at the Manitoba Buddhist Church, 825 Winnipeg Avenue, on Monday, April 25, at 1:00 p.m., followed with interment at Brookside Cemetery. Neil Bardal Inc. 949-2200
