EDWIN FERENS With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Mr. Edwin Ferens, aged 85 years, of Beausejour, dearly beloved husband of Agnes O'Donahue, on Thursday, April 21, 2005. Ed Ferens, affectionately known as POPS , loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, playing bridge, snowmobiling, etc. There were not many things he did not try. Family and friends were always important to him. That's one reason he came back to his roots in Beausejour. He is survived by wife Agnes O'Donahue; son David (Christine); daughter Jane (Paul) Dewsbury; grandchildren Quinn and Scott Dewsbury; brother Eugene (Elizabeth); sisters Judy Weatherill, Irene Stilkowski and Liz (Clarence) Strecker also several nieces and nephews and many friends. He is predeceased by his first wife Mary; brother Stephen; sisters Kathleen Mitchell and Olga Peluk; parents Paul and Cassie Ferens; sister-in-law Anne Ferens; brothers-in-law John Mitchell, Michael Peluk, Charles (Bud) Weatherill and Michael (May) Stilkowski. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, April 27, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel with Rev. Fr. Owen Steeves and Rev. Fr. Robert McDougall officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clarence Strecker, Gerald Peluk, Gregory Strecker and Alvin Klapprat. Interment will follow at the Town of Beausejour Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in his memory may be made to St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Building Fund, P.O. Box 760, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.
