Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryARNOLD LEONARD KIRBY It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear Father and Papa, Arnold Leonard Kirby aged 64 years, on April 22, 2005 at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital, peacefully with his family at his side. Dad was born on September 13, 1940 and grew up in the Swan Creek District. After Dad's school years, he worked at odd jobs on various farms and then worked for MTS. Dad continued the family tradition of commercial fishing with his brothers and father while taking on some carpentry jobs and working on the pipeline. Dad took great pride in his gardens. He often would scold his daughters for not properly weeding their gardens. He had a garden at each family member's home as he believed that each had its own type of dirt suited for growing different types of vegetables. Dad loved to hunt and had a license for anything that could be hunted - not to mention that he tried to hunt those that a license could not be purchased for. Fluffy would always raise his blood pressure up. He also enjoyed listening to music, going camping, Sunday drives and fishing with Sandi. They drove around and around until they found just the right spot. The highlight of Dad's life was his family. He loved to watch his children grow and his grandchildren thrive. Dad, now that you are in peace, go catch that pickerel and that big buck with Grandpa and Uncle Ken. Grandma and Auntie Mabel will also be there waiting to cook your catch-of-the-day. We love you, Dad. Rest in peace Arnold leaves to mourn his companion Sandi Jessamine, his children, Sandra Tkach (Drew Latimore), Florence Lamoureux (Landon), Donald Kirby (Trish), Nicole Gleich (David), Kent and Devon; his grandchildren, Rene, Marcie; Lori, Destiny, Stefanie, Michael-Landon; Melissa, Danny; Jessica, Jackson; Matthew, Ryan and Rayna and longtime friend and mother of his children Patsy Kirby; son-in-law Joe Tkach; sisters, Edna (Lawrence) and Lillian (George); brothers, Norman (Donna) and Leslie; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Kirby and Linda Kirby along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Jenny; sister Mabel and brother Ken. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26 at the Lundar Lutheran Church with Pastor Nancy Walker officiating. Interment to follow in the Lundar Municipal Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren. On behalf of the family, we wish to express our sincere thanks to the staff at the E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital, Dr. Burnett and Dr. Styne and the doctors, nurses and staff at the St. Boniface Hospital. Your love and kindness shown to our Dad and to the family will never be forgotten. Also thanks to the many friends and family who came to visit Dad during his illness. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Eriksdale Hospital Guild, Attention Gail Holmes, General Delivery, Eriksdale, MB R0C 0W0.
