Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORNE SPRINGSTEIN March 14, 1920 - April 22, 2005 Suddenly with his family by his side, Lorne passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 85 years. Lorne will be lovingly remembered by his wife Edith of almost 60 years; two daughters, Donna, Winnipeg and Colleen Ammeter (Bill), Dufresne, MB; one son Ralph and friend June, Winnipeg; two grandchildren, Matthew and Jonathan Ammeter both of whom he was very proud; brother William (Darlene) of Edmonton; sisters-in-law, Mary Tees and Madge (Charlie) Taylor; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Ella; brother Norman; and sister Leta. Lorne was born in Rosetown, SK. He served in the R.C.A.F. from 1939 to 1945. After the war Lorne joined the post office, retiring in 1985 after 35 years of service. Lorne was a quiet and reserved man but was always eager to lend a helping hand. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing and times he spent at Nutimik Lake. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 54 years, Sir Sam Steele and most recently Duke of Kent. Lorne's family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Seven Oaks Hospital Emergency for their kindness and compassion. At Lorne's request cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lorne's memory to a charity of your choice.
