RONALD (RON) ALLAN COOK After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Ron passed away with his family by his side on April 22, 2005 at the age of 59 at Lakeshore General Hospital in Ashern, MB. He is survived by his Mom and Dad (Ella and Art Cook), his sisters, Elaine (Dave) Roach, Judy Tanner; his brothers, Gary (Colleen) Cook, Kevin (Lisa) Cook; nephews and nieces, Allison (John) and daughter Emily Scott, Shawn Roach, Brandt, Trent, Eric, Sherise, and Sierra Cook. His partner Judy (Wadge), and family Noreen (Lawrence) Dean and Devin, Bradley, Clayton (Aileen) Brooke and Bryce also survive him. Ron was a caring, fun-loving person who often put the needs of others ahead of his own. He was born in Winnipeg on September 16, 1945. He lived on the farm about six miles from Moosehorn and attended Bayton School. At the age of 11, he and his family moved to Atikokan, ON for two years. The family moved back to Manitoba to the farm where his brother Gary now resides. Ron attended Kiesman School, Moosehorn School, and later furthered his education at Red River Community College where he studied and obtained his journeyman papers as an electrician. He worked in various places and later resided in British Columbia for several years, finally returning to Manitoba. He was employed by Graymont Western Canada Inc. and also farmed. On weekends, Ron travelled to Winnipeg where he shared a home with his partner Judy. Ron also loved the outdoors and cooking with a creative flair. A celebration of Ron's life will be held Wednesday, April 27 at Peace Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m. in Moosehorn, MB with Pastor Gary Russell officiating. Interment will follow at Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Viewing only: 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26 at Arnason Funeral Home in Ashern. Pallbearers: Dave Roach, Shawn Roach, Clayton Wadge, Lawrence Shirtliff, Rodney Brown and Elmer Nickel. The family wishes to thank all the medical staff at Lakeshore General Hospital who did all that was possible to make him comfortable. I will travel empty-handed. There is not a single thing I have collected in my life That I would ever want to bring Except......... The love of those who loved me, And the warmth of those who cared. The happiness and memories And magic that we shared. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, in care of Marlene Meisner, Moosehorn, MB, or to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave. Winnipeg, MB.
