CYRIL ANDERSON It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our father and brother who passed April 22, 2005 in Lynn Lake, MB. He is survived by his children, Kathleen (David), Debbie (Ron), Bruce (Cheryl) and Bad Billy (Jenny); favourite sister Beulah, brothers Morley (Clara), Harvey and Fred (Lucy); also many nieces and nephews. He was a true pioneer of the North. At the age of 15 he guided a fishing party by canoe from Flin Flon to Reindeer Lake. During the winter he hauled freight by tractor train to Northern outpost from Ilford and Lynn Lake, MB. He was a dedicated father, brother and friend who was also there to help others at their time of need. He was an undemonstrative man who believed his true feelings. His own words described him how he lived his life. Sometimes we seem to be hard and cold while underneath we care very much. The most important thing we can do is to learn to live with ourselves with courage, humility and enjoy the beauty of nature. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Lynn Lake, MB. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Manitoba Division), 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or charity of your choice.

My dear grandfather. I remember coming to find you in Lynn Lake, not wanting to wait until we went on our scheduled fishing trip. My cousin drove me to your house. You invited me in, and poured me a cup of strong, black coffee. I was 27 years old. You then asked me to cut your hair. I had no idea how, but I tried. When it was apparent I had no idea what I was doing, you stopped me and gave me 10 dollars. You said: I pay my barbers no matter if they do the job or not. The next day we all went fishing. You guided us by boat to a secluded lake and showed us an eagles nest with two eaglets. I was the only one who caught fish that day. That was the last time I saw you. Now your first born son, Bad Billy, my father, has died from cancer. He will be buried with you, my dear Pioneer of the North. My blood is yours and I will come visit you both some day, in Lynn Lake. I love you and am glad you and Dad will be together again. May God keep you both in peace. Jennifer Anderson - Posted by: Jennifer Anderson (1st born Granddaughter) on: Jul 12, 2025
