JEAN VIOLET MEARNS (nee SWIDERSKI) March 12, 1910 - April 24, 2005 Peacefully, on April 24, 2005 at the Concordia Hospital, Jean, our beloved aunt, passed away at age 95 years. Jean was born in Poland, but lived most of her life in Winnipeg. She had worked for many years at Peerless and Perths Laundry. Jean was predeceased by her husband Alfred Mearns; her brothers, Joseph, Robert, Charles and sister Julia. She is survived by her nieces, Charlene (Ted) Kaleta, Sherri (Ken) Jennings, Tracy (Greg) Vachon; nephew Chris (Tammy) Kaleta; stepson Joe (Gisela) Mearns of Oklahoma; the Earis family of Elkhorn and Winnipeg and many great-nieces and nephews. We would like to thank the staff of 3 NE at Concordia Hospital for their care and compassion. At Jean's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Jean's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
