RONALD JULIUS HIRST June 12, 1939 - April 21, 2005 It is with extreme sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Ron will be forever in the hearts of his loving wife, JoAnne; daughters, Ruth (Bob), Peggy (Brett); son Douglas (Pam); grandchildren, Kristyn, Ashleigh, Megan, Jonathan, Ben, Chris, Nick, Stephanie; and great-grandson Landon. Ron lived a full and exuberant life. Ron was predeceased by his mother Loreley, his father Gordon, his stepfather Ralph, his brother Allan, and his brothers-in-law, Durwood and Jerry. Ron will be sadly missed by his siblings, Glen (Blythe), Arnold (Joan), Myrtle (Victor), Rosalie (Stan), Beatrice (Allan), Hazel (Bob), Marlene, and Laurel. Through all the challenges that were thrown his way, Ron successfully strove to rise above them. It is this trait that has been instilled within his children. In his younger years, Ron excelled in sports including hockey, baseball, and curling. In his later years, he was an avid sports fan and master gamesman. Highlights in his life were relishing in family activities, dancing, and listening to music. Ron would go great lengths for his family and friends, always placing his needs after theirs. He will be deeply missed by all of those whose lives he touched. The family would like to extend its appreciation to Dr. Nel and staff at the Pinawa hospital for their compassion and care. A celebration of Ron's life will be held on Thursday, April 28 at the Lac du Bonnet Community Centre at 10:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. A private interment will follow at a later date.
