RUTH DOREEN PETERSON Peacefully, on Saturday, April 23, 2005, Ruth Peterson of Winnipeg, passed away at the Maples Personal Care Home, at the age of 83 years. Remaining to cherish her memory forever are her husband Brany, of 62 years of marriage; sons, Brent (Irene) and Dennis (Glenda); and their families. Ruth was a beloved grandmother to five grandsons. She was predeceased by her daughter Sharon. Ruth worked at T. Eaton Co. and in the library for Manitobans with Disabilities. Her love of nature included gardening, bird watching and fishing at the lake. As a devoted member of Sparling United Church, she enjoyed singing in the choir. Friends and family will always remember her for her wonderful cooking and baking. Ruth was a compassionate person who loved people and was always willing to help. She was also committed to many causes. Ruth was an advocate for improved ophthalmology services in Manitoba, as well as an important member of the Winnipeg Water Protection Group. A Celebration of Ruth's Life will be held on Wednesday, April 27 at 11:00 a.m. in Sparling United Church, 1609 Elgin Ave. W., with Rev. Scott MacAuley and Rev. Harold Ritchie officiating. Sincere thanks to all the staff of the Maples Care Home who provided such wonderful care for her.
