MARGARET M. COURCHENE (nee FONTAINE) OSHOKO PINEHSE`AISE (LITTLE BLUEBIRD) March 10, 1926 - April 25, 2005 Peacefully amongst her loving family on April 25, 2005, Margaret passed away at the Pine Falls Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Dave Courchene, Sr.; and by parents, George and Josephine; sisters, Delrose and Dorothy; and brothers, Norbert, Art, Felix and Wilfred; granddaughter Mandy; as well as son-in-law Herman whom she took as another of her own. She is survived by her brothers, Edward and Howard. Also mourning her loss are her children, Lorraine (Art), David, Jr. (Orianna), Shirley (Art), Brian (Susan), Gerald (Eve), Brad and Darlene. Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved and was greatly cherished by them in return also survive her. Margaret was a special person who respected everyone and always lived by the lessons of humility and forgiveness. She was well known and respected throughout the community of Sagkeeng First Nation. For her children and grandchildren she demonstrated an exemplary life of caring, compassion and love. Gran was always there for those who needed her most and her passing will leave an irreplaceable void for those of us who were closest to her. Our only solace is the certainty that though she may be gone from us physically she will always be watching over us from heaven. Your mother is always with you. She's the whisper of the leaves as you walk down the street, she's the smell of certain foods you remember, flowers you pick and perfume that she wore, she's the cool hand on your brow when you're not feeling well, she's your breath in the air on a cold winter's day. She is the sound of the rain that lulls you to sleep, the colours of a rainbow, she is Christmas morning. There will be no replacing you - Mom, but you have given us the strength and the courage to try to live lives that will someday allow us to rejoin you and Dad and all of those we have lost before you. Wake services will be held at her former residence at the Sagkeeng First Nation, commencing April 25, 2005. A traditional service will take place in the Sagkeeng First Nation, at the Turtle Lodge, 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 29, 2005 with cremation to follow.
