EVELYN (EVA) WARREN 1914 - 2005 Suddenly, after a courageous battle with Alzheimers, on April 25 at her residence in Burnaby, BC where she has lived since 1997, Evelyn passed on to join Bud . Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Leslie (Bud) Warren in 1996, by her son Gordon in 1949, and by her brother George in 1973. Bud and Eva were married for 56 years. Evelyn will be sadly missed by her daughter Bernice (Neal) Fisher; her grandchildren Leslie (John) Gergely, Colleen (Tim) Budy, Rob (Brenda) Hutchison; and great-grandchildren, Lauren and Hailey Gergely, Mackenzie, Brendan and Jada Budy, Brooke and Cole Hutchison. Almost famous for her outgoing, laughing, fun-loving personality, Evelyn's priorities were always the same, her husband, her daughter and her grandchildren. Her family fondly remembers: hand made dance costumes, Grandma's special cookies and muffins, swimming lessons, Sunday dinners, and weekends at Grandma and Grandpa's place. Evelyn's love of music, especially her piano, took her many places. During her working years (at Eatons and D.O.T.) she played and taught in her spare time. In her retirement years she took the time to play at church and for seniors at various homes around Winnipeg. More importantly you could always count on Evelyn to tickle the ivories at a family get together. As a Past President of the Sunshiners Toastmasters Club and a member of the Eastern Star Jubilee Chapter 27 she is fondly remembered by many people outside of her immediate family. A private family graveside service will be held for Evelyn at Elmwood cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer society of Manitoba. You were always there when we needed you, No task too great or small. With a loving heart and a willing hand, For us you did it all. There will always be a heartache, And often a silent tear, But always precious memories, Of the days when you were here.
