LEITH D. MERCER Peacefully, on April 27, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre, Leith Mercer died at the age of 87 years. Leith was predeceased by her loving husband Bert on July 10, 2002. Leith will be sadly missed by her niece Carmen Mercer (Harold), sister-in-law Brenda Twort and family in England, goddaughter Pat and several cousins and special friends. Leith was born on the family farm in Matchetville District, North of Treherne, MB on August 19, 1917. She received her early education in Treherne and upon completion of secretarial training in Winnipeg went on to spend her career at Great West Coal. Leith enjoyed her retirement travelling abroad and taking cruises with Bert. Many happy times were spent on the golf course with their close friends. Needlework and knitting were favourite pastimes. A service of remembrance will take place on Monday, May 2 at 1:30 p.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Interment will take place on Saturday, May 7 at 10:30 a.m. in Bethel Cemetery, Treherne.
