Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVICTORIA (VICKY) WERBICKI (nee SAFIAN) It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Victoria, beloved wife, mother, baba and friend on Thursday, April 28, 2005. Vicky will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Walter of 56 years and children, Pat, Marilyn and Bob Bird. Her grandchildren, Tricia and Mike will hold dear memories of their Baba. In addition to her immediate family, Vicky will be sadly missed by her brother Adam Safian, Van Nuys, CA, cousins, Jean, Mary, Kate, Olga and Louis, numerous sisters and brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Among her many friendships, those with Margaret, Steve, Sophie, Olga, George and Elsie were particularly special. During the past year she developed special relationships with both Carmen and Linda. Vicky was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Safian, sister Kay Meza and brother Bill. Vicky was born in Winnipeg and resided in the north-end all her life. She attended Faraday and Isaac Newton Schools, continuing on to Business College; utilizing these skills at several employers. Her last 15 working years were spent with the Smerchanski Group of Companies where she made lasting friendships. Vicky was a faithful, lifetime parishioner of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church. She belonged to the BVM Ukrainian Catholic Women's League serving in various executive positions, which included president. Vicky had been an active member of the New Horizons (BVM) and C.P.A.C. Senior Groups. Many hours of cards, bingo, travelling to casinos, dinners and camaraderie were shared at the weekly gatherings and outings. Vicky loved to spend time with her family and friends and looked forward to all special occasions. Her other pastimes included; playing cards, knitting, reading, spending time at the cottage and watching game shows and sporting events on TV. Vicky was a wonderful cook and we especially loved her perogies, holupchi, paska and peroshky. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church; 965 Boyd Ave. Service will terminate at the church. Pallbearers will be Tricia Bird, Mike Bird, Steve Buchko, Alex Buchko, George Curtis, Roger Klym and Gary Kushner. Honorary pallbearers are George Palmer and Peter Zajac. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vicky's name may be made to Blessed Virgin Mary Church, 965 Boyd Ave. or to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3L 0K6. Mom has given us hope in that love will fill every need, faith to find our way, guidance to do what we feel is right and traditions to be passed down. We will all hold close to our hearts special memories of a caring, loving and generous person. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
