LAWRENCE VICTOR LOZINSKI Suddenly, but peacefully, on Friday, April 29, with his family by his side, Vic passed away. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Helen, of 46 years, their children, Wayne (Lori) and Terry-Lynn; and grandchildren, Ryan, Stephanie, their mother Marsha, and Daniel. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his siblings, Bill (Gladys), Cliff, Tony (Blanche), Ray (Norma), Verne (Betty) and Sylvia (Ken) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He has joined his parents and siblings, Joe, Ed, and Francis in heaven. Vic was born in Cudworth, SK on February 17, 1936, later moving and growing up in the Dauphin area. He moved to Winnipeg in 1955, married Helen in 1958, and raised his family in Transcona. Vic joined the Winnipeg Fire Department in 1957, working throughout the city during his career, mostly at inner city stations. He was a dedicated firefighter, and retired a Captain in 1992. Vic built a cottage on Lake Winnipeg in 1977, where he and Helen spent the majority of their retirement years and where he was the happiest. In his spare time, Vic enjoyed doing carpentry work, fishing, hunting, golfing, and being outdoors. With a big heart, he was always opening his door and helping others. Most of all, Vic loved being with his family; especially with his grandchildren. A memorial service celebrating Vic's life will be held on Friday, May 6 at 10:00 a.m. in Thomson In the Park Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to the Fire Fighters Burn Fund may be made.
