Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJARROD (JERRY) WADE LOEWEN Tragically on December 26, 2004, at Khao Lak, Thailand, Jerry Loewen, 36, went to be with His Lord and Saviour whom he loved. Jerry was born March 6, 1968 in Winnipeg, MB. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Abe and Myra Loewen, and brother Randy (Winnipeg); his grandparents, Henry and Tina Martens (Altona); many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Henry and Mary Loewen, and aunt Evelyn Loewen. Jerry graduated with a Gold Medal in Economics from the University of Winnipeg in 1995. He was listed on the Dean's Honour Roll and won five other awards. Jerry's interests included flying, nature, and above all, travelling. During the last few years he spent his summers working for the City of Winnipeg, and his winters travelling (mostly to Thailand). Prior to his last trip to Thailand he spent nine months at Auckland, New Zealand, where his faith in God was strengthened. On December 22, 2004, he returned to Thailand where he rented a beach house at Khao Lak. A few days later, he was one of the many victims who succumbed to the tsunami that devastated southeast Asia. Our family would like to express our sincere thanks to Anita Symonds, Foreign Affairs Canada, Marie Kenny, Canadian Consular Officer at Phuket, and the Canadian Forensic Team at Thailand, for their assistance in facilitating the cremation and burial service for Jerry on April 25, 2005. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2:00 p.m., at the Morrow Gospel Church, 755 St. Anne's Rd., with Pastor Ralph Unger officiating. In Jerry's memory, donations may be made to World Vision International.
