BLANCHE MARYANN DOWSETT (nee WALLIN) Peacefully, with her family at her side, Blanche passed away Monday, May 2, 2005 at Golden Links Lodge. Blanche leaves to cherish her memory sons, Doug and Allan; daughters, Bonnie (Gerry), Barb and Norma (Leo); and daughter-in-law Helen; grandchildren, Pam, Lori, Brandy, Kelly, Krista, Kerri, Derek, Lindsay, Jacklyn, Ryan, James; and great-grandchildren, Sage and Madison; as well as numerous nephews and nieces; and sister-in-law Sophie Wallin. She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Sarah Wallin; husband Roy (1976); brothers, Henry Wallin and Mackie Wallin; and daughter-in-law Lynda Dowsett. Mom was born August 19, 1920 in Winnipeg. She grew up in Winnipeg, served three and a half years in the Army during the Second World War, and married her husband Roy of 32 years. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy. Mom was a very giving and generous person. She loved baking (especially bread and butter tarts), was a great volunteer for community activities and loved to play Bridge and Bingo. Special thanks to the staff at Golden Links Lodge for their excellent care and compassion. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Green Acres Funeral Home, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road with Rev. Linda Churchill, Minister of Meadowood United Church officiating. Interment to follow in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Blanche's memory. Mom, we love you and we will miss your special smile. Rest in Peace.
