Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDOROTHY MAE WILSON (nee BRAGG) January 9, 1911 - April 30, 2005 Dorothy Wilson slipped away peacefully on Saturday morning, with family at her side. Born in Winnipeg to Samuel and Mary Anne Bragg, Dorothy grew up in Starbuck, MB. She married Bill Wilson in 1938 and they lived in St. Vital for 60 years. She is survived by her son Dennis (Marg) and daughter Janet (Earle Clements). Also surviving are grandchildren, Dean (Cheri), David, Deron (Bernadette) and Susan (Eliot) and great-grandchildren, Derek, Katelyn, Sofia and Matteo. All through her life, Dorothy was interested in fitness and sports. She played softball and later enjoyed cross-country skiing, tennis and paddling at the Winnipeg Canoe Club, where she also played badminton and golf well into her 80s. She had a great sense of fun, loved to dance and hosted parties for a wide circle of friends throughout the years. She loved music and was an enthusiastic supporter of Bill's various jazz bands in the 1930s and 40s. Her positive energy was infectious. As women did at the time, Dorothy left her job at the T. Eaton Company when she got married. Her family became the central focus of her life and she gave her husband and two children her unconditional support. She loved to pack up the family car every summer and travel through Canada and the U.S. In later years, she and Bill spent many winters in Florida. Dorothy was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her many special qualities had a positive effect on the people she met throughout her life. All of us will miss her terribly. Dorothy was predeceased by her devoted husband Bill, in 1999, and her three brothers, Cliff, Frank and Ken. Our many thanks to Anne Duclos and the staff of Misericordia Place for their excellent care and compassion. A family memorial service has been planned.
