Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELMER NORMAN MACHDANZ November 2, 1922 - April 29, 2005 On April 29, 2005 at Beacon Hill Lodge, Elmer passed away in the presence of staff and his sister Lila. Elmer was born and raised in Emerson, MB. He joined the RCAF in April, 1943 and was in active service during the war until he was discharged in February 1946. He obtained his Journeyman Carpenter papers and worked on large construction projects in Northern Manitoba until he retired and returned to make Winnipeg his home. He became involved with the Army Navy Legion, Unit 60, where he was a life member, and the Royal Canadian Legion No. 1 where he enjoyed the company of the friends he had made. He is survived by his three sisters, Lila Forrester of Winnipeg, Winnifred Jones of West Covina, California and Louise Burns of Albany, New York and other extended family members. At his last home in Beacon Hill Lodge, he enjoyed the excellent care afforded him by the nursing staff on the third floor. His family is much obliged to the staff at Beacon Hill Lodge for their care. Elmer did not want a funeral service. Accordingly, his remains will be interred in a family plot at Elmwood Cemetery during a private family gathering.
