Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryISABEL BIRNIE (HODGE) 1913 - 2005 On Tuesday, May 3, 2005 Isabel Birnie joined her beloved husband Tom who predeceased her in 1998. She was a resident of the Whitemouth Personal Care Home where she had lived for the past three and one-half years. Isabel was born in Winnipeg on August 28, 1913 the fourth child in a family of seven to Alexander and Jane Hodge. She was raised in the Elmwood area of Winnipeg until her marriage to Tom Birnie in 1939 when she moved to the West End. Isabel and Tom remained in Winnipeg until 1963 when Tom was employed by the Whiteshell Nuclear Research Est and they moved to Pinawa where Isabel resided until 2000. Isabel is predeceased by all her brothers and sisters and their spouses. She is survived by her niece Lynda and her husband Merrill Wozniak; nephew Jeffrey and Barbara Hodge; and close friends, Roger and Marg Smith and Ruth Zink as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the Pinawa Lutheran Church on Saturday, May 7 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Rob Murray presiding.
