SUSIE PENNER Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Susie Penner, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the Concordia Hospital, with her loving family at her side. She was born in Ohrenburg, Russia on June 20, 1916 to Gerhard and Agatha Klassen, the youngest of ten children. She married Abram Penner on September 27, 1936. They farmed in the Sanford area until 1952, at which time they relocated to Winnipeg. All her life she was very generous, always wanting to give to others. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were very special to her, and they, in turn, have many happy memories of times they spent with her. She is survived by her daughter Adina and John Sukkau; their children, Norm and Sherry Sukkau with Michael and Nathan, Karen and Owen Genung with Nicholas, Matthew and Christopher; by her daughter-in-law Donna Penner; her children, Gord and Lila Penner with Ryan, Tanya and Eric, Doug and Vilma Penner with Vanessa and Allison, Shelley Penner and Brian Harrison with Tobias; Edith and Phil Toews and their children Kim and Mark Duerksen with Jessica, Heather and Kari, Sandi and Cyril McFall with Angie, Carly and Jadon, Bonnie and Todd Anderson with Suzanne, Tyler and Austin, Angie and Rennie Saj with Danielle and Jennifer, Jeff Toews and Jenny Swartz with Shelby and Sara. She is also survived by one brother John and Sara Klassen and one sister-in-law Mary Klassen, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Abram, her son Abe, by her daughter Eleanor and son Ronald in infancy, and by her grandson Bryan Sukkau, also in infancy. Funeral service will be held at Klassen Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 7 with visitation one half hour prior to service. Interment to follow in Springstein Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations may be made to Concordia Foundation, E.R. Project, 1095 Concordia Ave., Winnipeg, R2K 3S8.
