EMILIA OLAF WILLIAMS On May 4, 2005, Emilia Williams, aged 87 years, passed away naturally and peacefully at the Health Sciences Centre with family members at her side. Emilia was predeceased by her husband Gustaf; son Melvin; daughter Vivien; brothers, Paul and Bessi; and sister Freda. She is survived by her daughter Evelyn; sons, William and Richard; granddaughters, Stefanie, Carol Anne, Laurie, Allyson and JoAnne; grandsons, Michael Melvin, Evan Dean, Michael and Maury; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister Christine; and numerous nieces and nephews. Emilia was born on Hecla Island in 1917 to Ingolfur and Helga Palsson. She lived on Hecla until 1982 when she moved to Riverton and in 1988, moved to Winnipeg. She lived the last four years of her life with her daughter Evelyn. Emilia was a very interesting, well read and accomplished person. She loved life and loved the people with whom she shared her journey. Amma will be truly missed and lovingly remembered by her family. A service of remembrance will be held on Wednesday, May 11 at 2:00 p.m. at the Riverton-Hnausa Lutheran Church with Pastor Trudy Thorarinson officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Riverton-Hnausa Church. Gilbart Funeral Home in care of arrangements.
