Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH LEDUCHOWSKI June 4, 1925 - May 6, 2005 With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather at Dauphin General Hospital. Joe is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Helen, of 56 years; children, Gordon (Paulette), Gail (Rick Orobko), Ken (Betty), Joni (Rick Orr), Dick (Betty) and Rose (Paul Dubois); nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Joe is survived by his siblings, Kay (John Petrick), Kost, George (Laura), Dan, Gloria; sister-in-law Myrtle and his many nieces, nephews and cousins. Joe was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Anna; brothers, John, Harry (Mattie), Steve, Mike, Alex and Paul; by his sister Mary (Mike) Martinuik; and nephews, Gary and Clayton Petrick. Joe was born in Chatfield and was raised in the Wheat Hill District. Joe and Helen were married in 1948, then they worked in a logging camp in Ontario. Returning to Chatfield, they started a transfer business, then grain farming in the Skylake area. In 1986, they purchased Towers Hotel in Dauphin until Joe retired in November 2004. Joe enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing and sightseeing for wildlife. Joe enjoyed playing and watching baseball. He was inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame as a member of the 1952 to 1959 Chatfield Cardinals. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 11 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chatfield Community Hall. The family wishes to thank the staff at Dauphin General Hospital, Dr. Potaski and Dr. Lysack.
