Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOZSEF (JOE) FARKAS Peacefully on May 6, 2005, Jozsef Farkas passed away at the Grace Hospital at the age of 88 years. Jozsef is survived by children, Ellen, Peter (Maryanne) and Gary (Lynn); grandchildren, Richard, Christina, James (Pam), Lisa (Glenn), Joey, Trish and Kyle; four great-grandchildren and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his wife Sarlotte in 1997. Jozsef was born on March 11, 1917 in Budapest, Hungary and came to Winnipeg in 1957. He was employed in the clothing trade and eventually started his own factory. He owned and operated Quality Sportswear until he retired at 65. Jozsef enjoyed sewing after his retirement, as being a tailor was his whole life. Jozsef and Sarlotte loved to travel, especially to Mexico and Hawaii. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, May 11 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 12 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 365 Burnell St. with Rev. Fr. Gary Killen as celebrant. Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jozsef's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
