Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryISABEL MCCORMICK On Saturday, May 7 at the Victoria General Hospital Isabel McCormick (nee Johnston) passed away peacefully. Isabel was born July 28, 1912 in Winnipeg. She lived her life in St. Vital, a community she knew and loved from childhood days when her mother ran a store on Fifth Avenue and her father was a house builder. She had a wealth of knowledge and stories about St. Vital people of those and later years. Isabel was predeceased by her husband Richard (Dick) in 1966, by her brothers, Jim (Gladys), Ernie (Helen) and Art. She is survived by her son David of Ottawa, her brother Bill (Brownie) of Vancouver, her sister-in-law Jeanette Johnston, and brother-in-law Jack McCormick (Bobbie) of Winnipeg, her niece and nephews. Isabel was a longtime employee in the cash cage of Eaton's mail order, work that gave her a circle of long lasting friendships. In an active retirement she enjoyed travel, gardening, and knitting and crocheting for local fairs and charities. Always ready for an adventure or outing she loved to explore the city attending events of all kinds as a dedicated bus rider often with her great friend Margaret Kunz. Isabel was an enthusiastic member and supporter of the St. Vital Historical Society, Princess Elizabeth Hospital Guild and Eaton's Retirees' Club. Special thanks to friend June Loftus and Florence Mark and to Dr. F. Salem for their care. At Isabel's request there will be no formal service. Friends are invited to celebrate her life and favourite beverage at a Memorial Tea Thursday, May 12 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Heather Curling Club, 120 Youville St. off Marion. But the memory of her smiling face, her infectious laugh, her beautiful blue eyes, and the amazing clarity with which she remembered any story throughout her lifetime...the incredible kindness of her heart and the never-failing generosity in her spirit ....will live with us forever. Our deepest sympathy to her son, David. We were all very lucky to have had Isabel with us for so many years....and we will miss her endlessly in reality....
