BORIS B. SHULMAN Boris B. Shulman, son of Boris E. Shulman and Zoe L Schwartzman, lost his courageous battle with cancer on May 9, 2005, after a life full of love and friendship, of spiritual achievements and of intellectual refinement. He will be lovingly and sadly remembered by his wife Sophie, by his son Victor, his daughter-in-law Myra and granddaughter Julia, by his mother-in-law Rebecca Dubovskaya and by the relatives and friends in Canada, Russia, Israel, England, Germany, Sweden and the United States. Boris, my husband of 52 years, love of my life, it was your love that made everything in our life possible, and you will be with me forever. Boris was born in 1929 in Moscow, USSR, graduated from Medical School in 1953, got his PhD in respiratory pathology in 1964 and had a long and distinguished career as an MD in pathology and in forensic medicine. He also taught medicine. After having immigrated with his family to Canada in 1980 Boris reestablished himself professionally and got a Canadian Medical license in MacMaster University Medical School (Hamilton, ON). He worked as a pathologist in St. John, NB and Winnipeg, MB for 17 more years. A devoted family man, a true friend, caring and generous, Boris had been known as a highly intelligent person with natural grace, great sense of humour and with extensive general erudition. He had touched so many lives, so many people from all walks of life called in to wish him well when he turned ill! Reading, music and travels had always been his favourites. He used to be an amateur singer (with beautiful baritone) as well as the captain of a volleyball team. Our deep gratitude goes to the wonderful staff of the Palliative Care Unit 8 of the St. Boniface General Hospital. As per his request, no funeral service will be held. In lieu on flowers, donations to St. Boniface Hospital will be gratefully accepted. Memorial gathering will be held at Lindenwood Manor, 475 Lindenwood Dr. East, on May 11 at 6:00 p.m.
