JOAN KILFOYLE Peacefully, after a courageous battle with cancer, Joan Kilfoyle, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed into the presence of Jesus on Saturday, April 30, 2005, at the age of 81 years. Joan spent her last few months in the Deer Lodge Centre with her husband and soulmate, Howard. They enjoyed 63 years of marriage. She will be remembered with love by her four children, Howard Kilfoyle (Marion), Ross Kilfoyle (Bev), Frances Warner (Doug) and Geoffrey Kilfoyle (Judy); as well as ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sister Joyce; nieces and their families in England. Joan was born in Bolton, Lancashire, England. She excelled at academics, enjoyed reading and always kept up with current events. Joan loved music and had a beautiful voice. She made music a part of everyday life. Joan will be remembered as a devoted homemaker, an affirming and steadfast wife and helpmate to her husband. As a loving mother and grandmother, she supported and encouraged the endeavours of her children and grandchildren and instilled in them respect and integrity, taught by godly example. We will all miss you, Mum, but we rejoice that you and Dad are together at Home in Heaven. A celebration of Joan's life will be held on Saturday, May 28 at 6:00 p.m. in Victory Baptist Church, 3428 Portage Ave. with Pastor Archie Dyck officiating.
