WILLIAM ARTHUR HARVEY WILSON On Sunday morning May 8, 2005, Harvey passed away at the age of 66, after a courageous battle with cancer. His strong heart succumbed to the disease, and he is now resting in peace. He is survived by his wife and companion of 17 years Judy; son Ken (Heidi) Wilson of Winnipeg, daughter Karin (Darcy) Stelte of Spruce Grove, AB and daughter Jennifer (Dan) of Winnipeg. He will be greatly missed by his five grandchildren, Alex, Rachel, Jackson, Brandon and Mackenzie as well as his sister Sharon Roche of Halifax, NS. Harvey is also survived by many relatives and extended family from Halifax, Killarney, MB, Calgary, AB and Winnipeg. Harvey was born in Winnipeg on January 27, 1939 to parents, William Arthur Wilson and Emma Jessie Wilson (nee Charles) who predeceased him. Harvey married Patricia Eliasson in October 1961. They were married for 25 years and remained good friends until his passing. He joined the Winnipeg Transit in the summer of 1966. Retiring in 1999, and returning to work for the Pan Am games. He enjoyed his many years at Transit and left behind many cherished co-workers. Prior to his employment for Winnipeg Transit he worked for Palm Dairies. We all loved hearing his stories about driving the dairy truck delivering milk or ice-cream. Dad also loved his model railroading, travelling, watching movies and T.V. Socializing with friends and family was a favourite past time, followed by many cribbage games. The family would like to thank friends, neighbours, excellent medical care provided by Dr. Polimeni, Dr. Kahn and the wonderful nurses at Seven Oaks Surgery ward, Dr. Czaykowski and the nurses and staff at CancerCare Manitoba, Mary-Anne our home care worker and Linda and all the other nurses at the Riverview Palliative Care ward for all their help and care. In lieu of flowers please make donations to CancerCare Manitoba, ON1160, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, R3E 0V9 in his memory. Memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m., on Thursday, May 12, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow.
