KATHERINE (KAY) STUTSKI October 31, 1931 - May 9, 2005 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kay Stutski on Monday, May 9, 2005 at the Health Sciences Centre with her family by her side. Cherishing her memory is her loving husband of 54 years, Dave. Her daughters, Karen, Wendy and husband Hank Tchir; her grandsons, Curtis and Colin Tchir. Her sisters, Josie Skwarok and Annie Skwarek; her brother Kasper Smigelski; her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Paul and Michael Smigelski; and her sister Mabel Kostelnick. Kay was born in St. Andrews on October 31, 1931. She was the youngest sibling and the only child born in Canada. She married David Stutski on June 24, 1950. Together they happily raised their family while farming in Pleasant Home for many years. Kay loved her family and dedicated her life to taking care of them. She loved cooking for them and always made sure that everyone was fed. Aside from taking care of her family, she also had special interests in sewing, as well as gardening. The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at the Grace Hospital, Health Sciences Centre and the Teulon Hospital. Prayers will be held on Thursday, May 12 art 7:30 p.m. at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel in Teulon. The funeral service will be held on Friday, May 13 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Lake Church in Winnipeg Beach. Interment will follow at St. Stephens Cemetery, Pleasant Home. Pallbearers will be Kay's grandsons, Curtis and Colin Tchir; nieces, Pam and Kim Ominski; nephews, Stephen Dowhan and Johnny Stutski. We would like all of Kay's friends and family to consider themselves honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Society or the Pleasant Home Cemetery.
