PHEOBEA HARRISON 1918 - 2005 Pheobea Helen Harrison (nee Mossip) passed away May 8, 2005 at the McCreary - Alonsa Health Centre. Pheobea was born November 12, 1918 in Welwyn, SK. She moved with her family in 1934 to farm in the McCreary area. Pheobea married James Albert Harrison in January 1941 with their first child born while Albert was stationed overseas. After the war, they bought a farm through the Veterans Land Act where they remained until retirement. Pheobea and Albert moved into McCreary in 1974. Pheobea is predeceased by her husband James Albert (1905-1987). She is survived by sons, Albert (Cathy), George (Sherry), and James; daughters, Pat (Jannis), Lynn, Betty (Jon) and Lois (Lawrence); 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter Sarah. Pheobea's early years were filled with her schooling and her music. She was blessed with amazing musical skills. She could play piano at age three and knew more about beats, rhythm, pitch, tone, and scales than many professionals. She also loved to dance and could do a heart stopping Charleston and Jitterbug. Pheobea's middle years were filled with her family, which she gave to unsparingly. The demands of farming, gardening, cooking, cleaning were high, but her energy never ended, always driven by her love of husband, children and home. Pheobea's golden years gave her the opportunity to enjoy her artistic talents, which included a range of crafts from quilting, needlework, and knitting. She loved her gardening, card games, scrabble (never lost), and a good/or bad argument. She took pride in her cooking and loved family gatherings. Her sense of fun never left. Pheobea's final years were spent at the McCreary-Alonsa Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the McCreary - Alonsa Personal Care Home, Box 250, McCreary, MB R0J 1B0. The care and compassion demonstrated by the staff has been deeply appreciated by Pheobea's family. Funeral service will be he held on Thursday, May 12 at 2:00 p.m. at the Knox United Church in McCreary with Rev. George Cargo officiating. Interment will follow at the McCreary Municipal Cemetery.
