JENNIFER CHRISTIE SWAIN Tragically on May 8, 2005 on Highway No. 9 in St. Andrews, MB, Jennifer Swain, aged 24 years, of Selkirk, MB. Jennifer will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her mother Darlene MacLean, sister Shay-la and brother Jeff. She is also survived by her father Arthur Swain. Jennifer will also be missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends. Jennifer was a friend to all, whether she knew you for years or just met you. She was the first to lend a helping hand to anyone and was always full of hugs and smiles. She also loved animals, having fun and time spent with family and friends. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 13 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Pastor Andrew Porterfield officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to service. Cremation will follow and a private family interment of ashes will take place in the Little Britain United Cemetery on Saturday, May 14 at 11:00 a.m. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff and Shay-la MacLean, Lee Godfrey, Karin Wust as well as all of her cousins who meant so much to her. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the Selkirk RCMP, St. Andrews Fire Department, attending paramedics and the staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital for all their care and compassion shown. Donations in Jennifer's memory can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.

  • I went to school with Jenn hung in and out of school to this day. I still have dreams about her and my daughter.   • My deepest sympathies. I'm a friend of Shawna McIlvenna and I know this is terribly hard for her right now. I can't even imagine how hard it is for the family.   • Although, I met Jen only a few times and didn't know her as well as many of my friends did, it didn't take long to realize what a bright and friendly person she was. Her charming personality and wonderful smile could cheer anyone up no matter how bad your day was. Jen was a beautiful person with the strength of a thousand horses, and although her end was tragic, her memory will always be as beautiful as she in our hearts.
