ROBERT GARDNER Mr. Frederick Robert Gardner of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on Monday, May 9, 2005 at the age of 77 years. He was born on June 18, 1927 in Winnipeg, MB, son of the late John and Evelyn Gardner. He will be lovingly remembered by his grandson Michael F. Pinvidic Jr. (Katharine Ross), who cared for Fred for five years; granddaughter Tricia Pinvidic; brothers, Jack (Marliss), Jim, Doug Shorty , Don; sister Margaret; daughter Marilyn (Mike) Pinvidic; grandchildren, Jason (Keiko), Dustin (Rebecca) and Darren; as well as numerous other great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Fred was predeceased by his son Ken Gardner and wife Sophie who were married on November 14, 1953. Fred served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from July 30, 1946 to September 30, 1966 and was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Family will be planting a tree in Fred's honour in Fish Creek Provincial Park, Calgary. A memorial service and graveside will take place in Winnipeg in July. A very special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at the Peter Lougheed Hospital for all their efforts and to all the staff at Cedars Villas whose support gave Frederick three wonderful years with us.
