BETTY CONSTANCE LAWRENCE The family of Betty Constance Lawrence sadly announce her passing on May 4, 2005 at the age of 89 years. Betty was predeceased by her brother Geoffrey Knight, her sisters, Rosemary Anglin and Madelein Kenworthy, and daughter Vivian Dowhopoluk. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Reginald; son Brian (Marilyn); son-in-law William Dowhopoluk; grandchildren, Michael Dowhopoluk (Tatiana), Patrick Lawrence (Meagan) and Michelle Lawrence; sister Peggy Luscombe; sisters-in-law, and several nephews and nieces. Betty was born in Dunstable, England in 1915 and married Reg in 1939. In 1948 Reg, Betty, Brian and Vivian immigrated to Canada. During the years Reg's career involved several moves and in due course the family lived in all four Western provinces. Finally Betty and Reg moved to Winnipeg in 1984. Betty gradually became totally blind and suffered a severe stroke in 2001. In earlier years Betty had worked in university libraries and also as a play schools supervisor for the City of Edmonton. She was a great cook and enjoyed knitting and embroidery work. She was also an active supporter of her church. The family wish to express their thanks for the wonderful care given by the dedicated personnel of West Park Manor Personal Care Home. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6 or C.N.I.B., 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 3M3 would be very appropriate. Betty has been cremated and service of remembrance and thanks for her life will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church, 755 Elm St. at Grant Avenue, at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, May 16, with the Rev. Phil Barnett officiating. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
