LILY KATHLEEN WALTERS Lily died peacefully, with her daughter and grandchildren present, on Sunday, May 8, 2005 at West Park Manor, Winnipeg, at the age of 92. Lily was born on January 5, 1913 at Mumbles, Swansea, in South Wales and resided in England from the time of her marriage in 1936 until the family emigrated to Canada in 1953. Lily was an active member of of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion for many years, receiving Life Membership in 1987. Always fond of animals, she also had a special interest in the work of the Humane Society. The garden gave Lily great pleasure; she loved to be outside tending to her flowers and feeding the birds. Predeceased by husband, Norman; sons, Phillip and Malcolm; brothers and sisters in South Wales, and son-in-law, Jack Tate. Survived by daughter Maureen Tate; grandchildren, Susan Green (Chris), Carolyn Bacon (Robert); Jeff Tate (Tracey Doblee), Gardner Walters (Alina), and David Walters; 13 beloved great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Lois Maxwell (David). A family service and Committal of Ashes was held on Friday, May 13, 2005 at Thomson In the Park Cemetery, McGillivray Blvd., The Rev. Phil Barnett, officiant.
