MAXINE ELLEN OLFREY Maxine Ellen Olfrey of Burnaby, BC, beloved sister of Patricia Olfrey, passed away peacefully at the Saanich Peninsula Hospital (Victoria, BC) on May 10, 2005 at the age of 66. Born on February 25, 1939 in Cartwright, MB, Maxine pursued her love and devotion to music throughout her life as an organist, pianist, choir director, accompanist and teacher. Her studies in Winnipeg, MB, The Royal Schools of Music in London, England, Peterborough Cathedral and membership with the Royal Canadian College of Organists led to various church appointments including Trinity-St. Stephens United Church in Amherst, NS, St. John's (Central Park) in Burnaby and numerous Vancouver and Winnipeg churches. She also enjoyed bringing the joy of discovery of music to each of her students. Maxine loved all animals and especially her best friend Echo. Predeceased by her father, W. Horace Olfrey and mother Catherine M. Olfrey, Maxine is survived by her loving sister, Patricia Olfrey of Sidney, BC; aunts, Olive Olfrey of Kelowna, BC, Margaret Hill and Eileen Hamilton of Winnipeg; and numerous relatives and dear friends. Funeral service will be held at West Burnaby United Church, 6050 Sussex Ave., Burnaby, BC on Monday, May 16, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Wendy Read officiating. Interment will follow at the Cartwright Cemetery in Manitoba. Maxine's friends, all, are regarded as honorary pallbearers. Graham's Funeral Services (204) 825-2848
