MARIA SCARCELLA (CIANFLONE) Maria Scarcella went home to the Lord on May 12, 2005. She was born in Amato, Catanzaro, Italy on June 4, 1919. Our mother, grandma, and nana leaves to cherish her memory four children, Lino, Frank (Charlene), Rachel Mazza (Joe), Cathy Kozier (Brian); along with 13 grandchildren; one great-grandson; her sister Anna Cianflone of Rome, Italy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Mom was predeceased by her beloved husband Giovanni; one grandchild Stephanie; one great-grandchild Maria; parents, Caterina and Giuseppe; brothers, Mario, Donato, Giuseppe; and sisters, Tommasina Loscerbo and Carolina Romeo. Maria will be missed by all those who knew her. She was a strong, courageous and generous woman who always tried to see the good in people. Her strength came from her relationship with God and was always grateful for each day's blessings. You will be missed but never forgotten. Your heart beats in all of us. Prayers will be offered on Monday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave. Funeral mass will take place on Tuesday, May 17 at 10:00 a.m. also at Holy Rosary Church with Rev. Fr. S.
