EDWARD SU YIN VUN MUCH LOVE IN LIFE MUCH LOVE AFTER Edward Su Yin Vun, who fell suddenly and unexpectedly ill on May 8, Sunday night, passed away on May 12, 2005 at the age of 51. Edward Vun, son of Chai Yun Vun, is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Megan; daughters, Delaney, Zephyra and Everett; sister Lily (Rene) Gallegos and their daughters, Carol and Melissa; brother Peter (Ellen) and their daughters, Shae-Lynn and Shawna-Mae; brother Charlie (Roselyn) and their son Victor; sister-in-law Meven (Glen) Yeung and their children, Essex and Ashton; brother-in-law Ning Wong; and six brothers, six sisters and father back home in Malaysia. He was predeceased by his mother, Vun Yun Tshin. Edward Vun was born on August 15, 1953 in Kudat Sabah, East Malaysia. At the tender age of 17 he became the first of the Vun family to immigrate to Canada alone. Through determination and perseverance, Edward worked at a variety of jobs to put himself through university and achieved a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from the University of Winnipeg and a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Manitoba. He joined Investors Group 21 years ago in Toronto, returning to Winnipeg for the sake of family and friends with his first two daughters. In Winnipeg, Edward continued to excel in his career at Investors. He was appointed to the position of Division Director where his drive to succeed along with his leadership abilities motivated many others. Edward loved spending quality time with his family, playing board games, building forts in the snow and a tree house whilst in the rain and taking them on many family vacations. During his free time he loved to golf, barbecue and listen to classic oldies in his vintage BMW. He also spent many hours playing the piano, which he taught himself. Edward always put others before himself, working timelessly to provide the best for his family and took great pride in their successes. He was a youthful and vibrant person with a magnetic personality which drew people to him. His selflessness and wholehearted devotion to his family has nurtured a special and loving bond between three beautiful daughters and a loving wife. His kindness and generosity will always be remembered and cherished by the many whose lives he touched. The family would like to thank all the caring staff at the Health Sciences Centre. We would like to especially thank all the caring coworkers at Investors Group, as well as the many friends and neighbours who offered their tremendous love and support. A viewing and memorial service will begin at 12:00 p.m. noon, with a reception to follow, on Wednesday, May 18, all at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted to The Vun Fund at the Winnipeg Foundation, where it will benefit many: Winnipeg Foundation, 1350 One Lombard Place, Winnipeg, MB R3B 0X3.
